Historical Evolution
Zhuji has a profound history. Early in the Neolithic age, there were ancestors living and breathing in Ciwu, Chencai, Chenzai, Huangshan, Huandong and other places in Zhuji. King Yue had founded capital in Beizhong, Dabu, and Gouchen and other places in Zhuji, which is the cradle of the Yuyue Culture. In the 25th year of Emperor Zheng’s Reign (222 BC) of Qing Dynasty, Zhuji County was established under the jurisdiction of Kuaji Shire.
In Sep.26, 1989, approved by State Council, Zhuji County was abolished and to be Zhuji County-level City.
