1. Geographic location
Zhuji lies in the north of Middle Zhejiang, with Shaoxing
County on its northeast and Yiwu City on its south, and
Hangzhou Xiaoshan Zone on its north, 90 kilometers or 1
hour¡¯s drive away from Hangzhou, 30 minutes¡¯ drive away
from Xiaoshan International Airport, 200 kilometers or 2
hours¡¯ drive away from Ningbo Port, and 350 kilometers or
3 hours¡¯ drive away Shanghai Port, belonging to the economic
development zone of Shanghai.
2. Natural Resources
Zhuji boasts a superiority natural condition and abundant
resources, with cultivated land area of more than 40 thousand
hectares, called to be with 70% hill, 10% water and 20%
farmland. In its area, over 30 kinds of minerals has been
discovered, including gold, silver, copper, iron, lead,
zinc, fluorite, phosphor, limestone and boun coal. And the
content of gold, zinc, fluorite, limestone and boun coal
rank in the front places in Zhejiang. Besides, Zhuji¡¯s water
resources, agricultural and forestry resources are rich
as well.
3. Hypsography and Climate
Zhuji is on the combination belt of the two hilly regions
of Southeast Zhejiang and Northwest Zhejiang, composed by
the Kuiji low hilly area in its east, the Longmen Mount
low hilly area in its west, the Puyang River valley basin
in its middle and river networks plain in its north. Surrounded
by mass mountains and hills, Zhuji leans from south to north,
forming a north uncorked aisle-mode collapse basin. In its
territory, plains below the altitude of 50 meters accounts
for 34.27%, hilly area with altitude between 50 and 500
meters accounts for 60.56%, mountainous region above the
altitude of 500 meters accounts for 5.17%. It is in the
subtropical monsoon climate region, with clearly demarcated
four seasons and comfortable climate, annual average temperature
of 16.2¡æ, annual average rainfall of 1315.9 mm, and nonfrost
period of about 234 days.
